Best gorditas ever. This place never dissapoints i have been going here for more than 20yrs and it's still as good as the first time i went
Food was amazing and authentic, the vibe and people were nice and attentive, definitely recommend coming here ! There is a line but went by quick food is worth it
First time this week and ordered to-go. It's a cute, small place. It looks hectic but they actually have a pretty good system going. The aguas frescas were super good! They actually tasted like authentic fresh fruit. Would recommend, just keep in mind it is small and popular, but they work fast.
This place is more of a taqueria, not quite a restaurant, it is small and rush hour is a long wait, but with time is all worth it, the place is also a meat market with a lot of Mexican products, candy , cokes, etc. But to get to the business, the tacos are outstanding and as far as $2 taco is worth it, the gorditas were not yo my liking, they had good flavor, I'm just used to different style, the tortas are good, my first time it was well balanced, but my to go order the second time was missing a lot of meat, more bread than meat. You can order over the phone, and you can also order on line, it is not as easy as it should be, but it works if you get things as they come. The service was great, friendly and as fast as it could be for such a small place.
I kept seeing this place on my TikTok Feed so I drove 40-45min to come try it and the food was phenomenal! It was busy when I walked in which was around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly! it's a 10/10 taqueria
I rate restaurants on 4 core values which is Customer Service, Taste of food, Price & Cleanliness. Service - Is okay. It's not bad but they also don't go out of the way to do anything extra. There is no host, waitress's or servers so you have to order your food at counter when you come in and you can sit where you like. Taste - I like it very much. Reminded me of my mom's cooking. Value - for the taste it was good price! Never spent less than $20 for any meal. Cleanliness- Despite the outside look the inside is clean. Overall - I recommend this place. Food is tasteful and delicious but don't expect much for customer service and you'll come out happy. My suggestion is to take it Togo.
Food here was 10/10! Tried the rajas and chile verde gorditas and a torta de al pastor. There was a long line but it moves fast. Also tried the agua de melón which was great! Wish the seating area was a bit bigger but overall the experience and service was great. The staff is really friendly, great customer service!
I mean come on. Houston Texas let's go man. Day 3 of university of houston bball camp. Needed some grub. I was recommended a lot of places but nothing seemed worth it? Found this spot on Yelp and knew I had something special. I arrived around 6 ish on a Tuesday and was greeted in spanish (i know minimal Spanish lol) and was taken to the counter to order. It's like a diner setting where you sit at the counter in front of all the workers and it was fantastic My Spanish 3 knowledge carried me as I ordered 2 chicken tacos, 1 carne asada Gordita and a large limon Fresca. Ladies and gents. This was fantastic. The servers are all attentive and my order was taken so quickly. We placed the order and waited no more than 10 minutes for the food. The limon drink came out first and was as big as a big gulp. It was the best lemonade-esque drink I've ever had. My chicken tacos came with lettuce, tomato and i added green and orange salsa along with a lime. The taco was filled with juicy meat and the veggies added a nice crisp. The Gordita was sort of a quesadilla with carne asada. Circular smaller tortilla with cheese and carne asada and my goodness it was good. Juicy and crispy meet with runny cheese. If this is the best meal I eat in houston, I won't be disappointed even a little bit. Oh also. Look at menu prices . $2.20 for a taco and $4 for a Gordita is ridiculous. The drink was the most expensive thing I bought lol. I paid for my friend and I and it was $27 total. And considering I don't normally buy drinks, this could have been well under $10 a person if I played my cards right. Steal! 10/10
Hadn't been here in years, like 12 years. The food is pretty good, I had a Gordita carne asada and two tacos, one barbacoa and one pierna. All of the food top notch. The service, while nice enough is very lackluster. The employees mostly have a very passive and don't really care to be here type attitude. No one was rude, but at the same time no one actually seemed to want to be courteous to the patrons. I would be back if I was in the area and craving good and very reasonably priced mexican snack food, like tacos, torta a, gorditas.
If you want some great no BS Mexican food, you must try this place. They have the best gorditas! Their food menu is simple: tacos, gorditas, tortas. They also have menudo on the weekends. You won't get the rice and beans on the side like you'll see at some other places but you won't need it to love it. You will need to know a little Spanish to get by but you can get away very little, if that's intimidating then just make sure you look at the menu before visiting and it will work out fine. The parking lot can get busy but it's worth the effort. Once you enter, you'll be in the carniceria and if you look to your left, you'll see the entrance to the dining. There will be two lines, one for to-go/pick-up and another to be seated. If you decide to dine-in, you'll watch the workers make the delicious food and they'll provide you with a number when they take your order (think whataburger). They'll use this number to give you the food once it's ready but you'll need to keep this number since you'll use it to pay at the register before leaving. That's about the gist of it, make sure to try one of their aguas frescas (I personally loved the horchata) and if you have some time check out the carniceria after.
